ECM, responsible for overseeing the electoral process, has taken swift action to address this issue. They have provided instructions to the head of the polling station on how to proceed in light of the marked ballot paper.
To ensure the integrity of the voting process, the official responsible for issuing the ballot paper at this station will not be provided with a pen.
This measure has been implemented to prevent any unauthorised markings or drawings on the ballot papers during the issuance process.
Furthermore, all voting activities at this polling station will be conducted under the watch of observers, monitors, and representatives of the candidates.
Since the Issue has been absolved, voting at this particular voting station has since proceeded again.
As of the latest reports, approximately 141,000 individuals have exercised their right to vote in the election. This figure represents approximately 50% of the eligible voters.
