Established on October 5, 2023, this office holds the responsibility of assisting the President-elect in fulfilling his duties and obligations during the government transition.
Under the provisions of the Presidential Transition Act, the Civil Services Commission (CSC) had previously appointed Abdul Raheem Abdullah as the Director-General of Transition. In this capacity, he is entrusted with the oversight of all matters pertaining to the government transition.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had earlier designated Hussain Amir, Secretary of Corporate Services at the President’s Office, to manage this responsibility on behalf of the President’s Office.
A directive issued on October 5, 2023, has instructed government offices and institutions to prepare for any potential changes to the administrative structure and senior personnel during the transition to a new government.
Solih has also called upon all appointees to continue their service until the conclusion of his current presidential term.
