The International Day of the Girl Child is a platform for global advocacy to support girls’ rights. This year’s theme, “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” assumes heightened significance in light of ongoing movements and initiatives that aim to restrict the rights of girls and women and hinder progress towards gender equality.

In response to the calls for change, the international community must move beyond mere reaffirmations of commitments and take substantial actions to bring about meaningful transformation by making significant investments in the necessary initiatives.
