MRC Launches Emergency Appeal to Support Palestine Red Crescent

The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) has launched an emergency appeal to raise funds in support of the Palestine Red Crescent (PRCS), which has urged the international community and its partners to intervene and prevent a looming humanitarian catastrophe.

According to a press statement released by PRCS, the situation in Gaza has become increasingly dire. PRCS reported 687 deaths, including 143 children, 105 women, and six healthcare workers, as well as the injury of 3,726 civilians since the escalation of military action in the Gaza Strip. This alarming situation has prompted a call for urgent action from the international community.
The funds raised through this emergency appeal will be directed towards the Preliminary Emergency Appeal launched by PRCS on October 10, 2023.
The appeal aims to provide critical humanitarian assistance, including first aid and health services, fuel and essential supplies for humanitarian facilities, transportation for the sick and wounded, clean water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, basic relief items such as food, clothing, and household essentials, as well as protection and community engagement for the most vulnerable populations.
