The MDP strongly condemned such threats against lawmakers for expressing their opinions and fulfilling their parliamentary duties. The party has called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take appropriate action.
Highlighting the importance of security for lawmakers, the party called on security services to ensure the safety of all parliamentarians, emphasising their entitlement to security and protection under the law.
As of now, the police have not provided immediate comments on the case. The reported threat against MP Shifau follows his recent call for the impeachment of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in the Parliament.
