Aasandha Scheme Expands Coverage for Endometriosis and PCOS

In a significant development, the Aasandha scheme has expanded its coverage to include special treatment for conditions such as endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). 

This update follows the gazetting, amending the Operating Aasandha Scheme Regulation.

Furthermore, services beyond those excluded may now be offered under a separate rule, to be determined and published accordingly. The amendment emphasises the importance of clearly defining and publicising both the services covered by the scheme and the extent of these services.

The amended rules are set to come into effect on the date of their publication in the Government of Maldives Gazette.
