Nimal Resigns as President of Kaafu Atoll Council
Mohamed Nimal has officially stepped down from his role as the President of the Kaafu Atoll Council.
Nimal, who assumed office in 2021, cited personal circumstances as the primary reason for his resignation. In a statement posted on X, he explained that the demands of his current situation necessitate his relocation away from his constituency, posing challenges in effectively carrying out his official duties.
He extended his appreciation to the dedicated council employees, recognising their hard work in accomplishing the goals set during his tenure.
Highlighting the aspirations of the people of Kaafu Atoll, Nimal conveyed his confidence in the transformative leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. He emphasised the high expectations of the community across various domains and expressed optimism that the entire atoll will undergo positive changes under Muizzu’s guidance.
Worth noting is Nimal’s background as the inaugural Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited, a position he held since its establishment in 2012. Additionally, he previously served in a political capacity at the Maldives embassy in Sri Lanka.
