In addition to the construction initiative, he highlighted ongoing discussions within the council regarding the removal of illegally parked and long-abandoned vehicles. Emphasising the importance of resolving cleanliness and traffic issues in the city, he stated that decisive action is being considered.

He also announced that a meeting with relevant authorities is scheduled to address the disposal of old vehicles obstructing roads. Discussions will encompass the establishment of a systematic approach for disposing of towed vehicles.

The commitment to alleviate the shortage of parking space in the city was a key promise during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s first 100 days in office. As part of this pledge, the construction of parking buildings was identified as a crucial step.

Under the previous administration of President Abdullah Yameen, mechanical parking systems were installed with the aim of resolving parking challenges in Male’ and Hulhumale’. However, these systems have remained unused to date.
