MET Office Issues Yellow Advisory from Baa to Kaafu

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a Yellow Advisory for the region spanning from Baa Atoll to Kaafu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 8:00 hours to 13:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of strong winds and very rough seas, with gusts of upto 30mph within the affected region.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
