Urbanco Initiates Fogging in Hulhumale’ to Combat Filariasis

Urbanco has launched a targeted fogging campaign in an effort to prevent Filariasis in Hulhumale’. 

The initiative, originally aimed at Filariasis prevention, has been extended to address the specific threat of Filariasis in the area.

To efficiently cover the city, Urbanco has divided Hulhumale’ into 20 designated fogging areas. Fogging operations will take place twice daily, from 5:00 – 6:00 am and 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Road users are urged to exercise caution during these fogging sessions.

Urbanco’s proactive approach to mosquito control in Hulhumale’ involves not only fogging but also concerted efforts to eliminate potential mosquito breeding grounds. 

Urbanco has been actively engaged in curbing the spread of Filariasis, with the screening of Hulhumale’ residents commencing this month in collaboration with the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
