Rough Seas and Heavy Rain Forecasted by MMS

In the latest weather forecast released by the Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) today, due to the onset of the Northeast Monsoon on 24 December 2023, citizens are advised to exercise caution as rough seas and gusty winds are anticipated over the next three days. The northern and central regions of the country are expected to experience particularly challenging conditions.

According to MMS, gusts of wind are likely to prevail, making sea travel potentially hazardous. In addition, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in certain areas, heightening the need for vigilance.
