Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, has inaugurated the “Islaamee Risaalathu” programme, aiming to build a generation well-versed in the pillars of Islam over the coming years.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Islamic Knowledge programme, Minister Shaheem emphasised its significance in educating both the youth and citizens about the Islamic faith. The initiative seeks to reinforce public faith and cultivate a generation knowledgeable about the core principles of Islam.
The programme will cover essential topics such as prayer, Zakat, fasting, Hajj pilgrimage, and faith. These teachings will be disseminated through sermons in mosques and various media platforms, including forums, seminars, and social media.
Additionally, selected participants will have the opportunity to embark on Umrah pilgrimage tours to Mecca and Medina. School exhibitions, fairs, and competitions related to the programme are also planned.
During the ceremony, Minister Shaheem outlined that the nationwide programme will be implemented this year, with the initial phase concentrating on the pillars of Islam and essential lessons for the Muslim community. He underscored the program’s vital role in fortifying the faith of citizens, particularly the youth.
Furthermore, Minister Shaheem highlighted the inclusivity of the initiative, targeting teachers, students, and all community members, including children. The programme is designed to foster a generation united in their reverence for Islam, emphasising adherence to the five obligatory prayers and congregational worship.
