Islamic Ministry Sign CSR Agreements for Mosque Reconstruction

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has signed three CSR agreements including with SJ Construction for the reconstruction of Zikura Mosque, situated in the Machangolhi district of Male’ City and Construction of a two mosque in Hulhumale’ 

The initiative is part of SJ Construction’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment.

The agreement, formalised this morning, was signed by Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, and Shihad Ibrahim, Director of SJ Construction. According to Minister Shaheem, the project involves expanding the mosque to three stories, addressing the need for increased capacity in the densely populated area.

This development is one of three CSR agreements signed by the Islamic Ministry to construct mosques. In addition to Zikura Mosque, agreements were inked with Aleem Foundation and Lisa Maldives for the construction of two mosques in Hulhumale’. Minister Shaheem highlighted that these mosques will have the capacity to accommodate between 2,000 and 3,000 worshippers.

The Ministry provided modern medical beds to the K. Guraidhoo Center, a facility under the Ministry of Social and Family Development. The official handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, where Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, personally delivered the beds. Dr. Aishath Shiham, Minister of Social and Family Development, graciously received the donation.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has collaborated with LISA Maldives Pvt Ltd, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a mosque in Hulhumale’. This socially significant project, entirely funded by LISA Maldives Pvt Ltd, aims to contribute to the religious infrastructure of the area.

Additionally, the Ministry has entered into another MoU with Aleem Foundation for the construction of a mosque in Hulhumale’. This initiative, completely financed by Aleem Foundation, reflects the collective efforts to enhance community services and facilities.
