Islamic Ministry Donates 32 Medical Beds to Guraidhoo Center

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has donated 32 medical beds to K. Guraidhoo Center.

The donation, consisting of 32 medical beds valued at MVR 504,000, was officially handed over to the Family and Social Development Minister, Dr. Aishath Shiham, by Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

During the ceremony, Minister Shaheem expressed gratitude towards Minister Aishath for her suggestion regarding the allocation of the donated medical beds to the Guraidhoo facility. He highlighted the collaborative effort between government ministries in supporting vulnerable communities.

Minister Aishath, in turn, expressed her satisfaction in assisting vulnerable groups and emphasised the significance of inter-ministerial collaboration on such initiatives.

The Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo, originally intended for individuals with severe mental health issues, has expanded its scope over time to include the elderly who lack caretakers. Presently, the facility accommodates over 190 individuals, providing a vital support system for those in need.
