In alignment with the demands of the youth, the government is committed to delivering advancements across various sectors, with a significant focus on tourism. Minister Faisal noted that the government had initially set a goal of attracting two million tourists for the current year. However, current trends indicate the likelihood of surpassing this target.

The Maldives has already witnessed a notable increase in tourist arrivals this year, with 170,000 visitors marking a 12 per cent increase compared to last year. This uptick in tourism numbers is a positive sign for the Maldivian economy.

The strategic focus on technology and key market retention, as outlined by Minister Faisal, signals a progressive approach to boosting the Maldivian tourism industry. As the nation leverages technological advancements and strengthens its market position in Asia, the Maldives is poised for significant growth in tourist numbers, contributing to the overall economic development of the country.
