The Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) has revealed details about polling stations and ballot box allocation for the upcoming parliamentary elections, with 240 designated for the Greater Male’ Area and 319 for the atolls.

In an announcement made today, the ECM has formally published the particulars concerning the polling stations, including the number and coding of the ballot boxes, as well as delineating the areas for polling.

The breakdown of polling stations across various regions has been separately documented. A total of 608 ballot boxes are earmarked for the election.

ECM’s Vice Chairman Ismail Habeeb indicated in a statement on X platform that these figures may undergo revisions subsequent to the re-registration process.

Habeeb advised the electorate to swiftly ascertain their designated polling station by utilising the commission’s hotline 1414 or sending an SMS with the format VR (space) ID number.

The re-registration process is currently underway and must be completed by the 7th of this month. Applicants can re-register online.

The parliamentary elections are presently slated for March 17.
