Muizzu Announces Environmental Protection for Vilimale’ Beach Area

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced his intention to designate the beach area of Vilimale as environmentally protected, following an appeal from a member of the public.

During an episode of the ‘Raees ge javaabu’ series, where citizens can directly address the President via social media, Zoona Naseem, the operator of Moodhu Bulhaa Dive Centre in Vilimale, called for the protection of the beach area. 

Additionally, she appealed for a policy allowing dive centre operators to be allocated land from a more suitable location.

Muizzu acknowledged the significance of safeguarding the Vilimale beach area, describing it as “very important”.

In addressing the allocation of land for dive centres, Muizzu affirmed that space would be provided for such operations, including training initiatives for locals and similar purposes.

The Vilimale’ beach area serves not only residents of Vilimale’ but also those from Male’ who visit for recreational activities such as picnics and swimming.
