Saudi Reaffirms Commitment to Boosting Maldives’ Fisheries Sector
The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has reiterated its dedication to supporting the fisheries industry in the Maldives.
During a meeting in Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Shiyam, the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, held discussions with Faisal AlKahtani, Deputy CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, to review both ongoing and prospective SFD projects in the Maldives.
Faisal Al Kahtani affirmed the commitment to sustaining the Maldives’ fishing industry, emphasizing the common goals and aspirations of both nations. This commitment highlights the collaborative endeavours between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives to enhance the growth and sustainability of the fisheries sector.
Minister Ahmed Shiyam, who is currently in Saudi Arabia to attend the opening ceremony of the Saudi International Marine Exhibition in Riyadh, emphasised the event’s significance in a post. He underscored the exhibition’s role as a vital platform for fostering business connections and facilitating the exchange of information across diverse fields.
