The Maldives Customs Service has announced the launch of four new services aimed at enhancing and fortifying its operations.

Commissioner of Customs, Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed, unveiled these services during a ceremony held at the Customs Head Office in Male’ City.

The newly introduced services comprise online case declaration, advanced e-agency permits, online trader statistics, and a courier cargo management system. Commissioner Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed highlighted during the ceremony that the objective behind these services is to improve accessibility and efficiency for the public.

He also underscored the Customs’ commitment to transitioning its operations to digital platforms, aiming for a paperless workflow wherever possible.

The online case declaration service allows customers to swiftly submit declarations, while the Courier Cargo Management System facilitates real-time tracking of packages upon their arrival in the Maldives, particularly benefiting online importers.

Moreover, obtaining advanced e-agency permits essential for Customs clearance is now seamlessly accessible through the Customs portal, significantly expediting the clearance process. Another addition is the online statistics service tailored for businesses, providing convenient access to statistical data at any time.

These services are designed to bolster the Customs service, streamline processes for customers, and create an eco-friendly environment for business operators.
