MET Office Issues Yellow Alert from Baa Atoll to Addu City

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a yellow alert for the region spanning from Baa Atoll to Addu.

This alert is in effect from 10:00 hours to 14:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of strong winds of 25 – 20 mph and gusts of 50 mph with very rough seas expected.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
