Muizzu Arrives in New Delhi for PM Modi’s Swearing-In Ceremony

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in New Delhi, the capital city of India, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers of the Government of India. 

Muizzu will attend the ceremony at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi.

Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, the President was received by Pavan Kapoor, Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India, Mr Ibrahim Shaheeb, High Commissioner of Maldives to India, and Munu Mahawar, High Commissioner of the Republic of India to the Maldives.

Prime Minister Modi and the Council of Ministers are scheduled to swear in today with leaders from neighbouring and other countries in attendance.

Prime Minister Modi is being sworn in for a third consecutive term in office. Muizzu has conveyed his congratulations to Prime Minister Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for their victory in the 2024 Indian General Elections.
