Maldives Accountants Forum 2024 Kicks Off with Over 300 Participants
The Maldives Accountants Forum (MAF) 2024, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives), started yesterday with a crowd of over 300 participants.
This forum is an initiative taken to redefine industry standards with a sharp focus on “Leading in the Era of AI and ESG.” The event is further enriched by the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed.

The ceremony’s welcoming remarks were given by the Auditor General and President of the Institute, Mr. Hussain Niyazy. He highlighted the importance of integrating AI and ESG into the Maldivian economy while also emphasising the necessity of establishing a Data Privacy Act within a strong legal framework.
The forum’s Chief Guest, Minister Mohamed Saeed, discussed the role of accounting professionals in developing and progressing the nation’s economy. CA Maldives’ Vice President Hassan Mohamed’s closing remarks concluded the ceremony, shedding light on why the introduction of AI in business operations must be incorporated with caution and care to mitigate the risks associated with it.
