Maldives and Saudi Arabia Engage in Talks to Enhance Religious Cooperation
The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in religious matters and practices.
The talks took place between Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Maldives, and Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of Saudi Arabia.
Providing insight into the meeting, Dr. Shaheem stated that the discussions primarily focused on religious issues and practices where both nations could collaborate. He expressed sincere appreciation for the assistance Saudi Arabia has provided in religious matters and conveyed optimism about further strengthening the relationship between the two ministries in the future.
Dr. Shaheem is currently in Saudi Arabia to participate in the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. He is accompanied by the Imam of Masjid Al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al-Auzam, Sheikh Mohamed Latheef, and the Senior Political Director, Sheikh Mohamed Imthithaau Abbas.
Dr. Shaheem is scheduled to return to the Maldives on 7 August, upon the conclusion of the conference.
