BML Accidentally Deposits Triple Pension Amount

The Bank of Maldives (BML) mistakenly deposited three times the pension amount into the accounts of several pensioners and has now begun reversing the incorrect transactions.

The error led some individuals supposed to receive MVR 5,000 as part of their monthly pension to find MVR 15,000 deposited into their accounts.

The Pension Office clarified no additional amounts were deducted from the pension fund due to this issue, and that all amounts and lists were sent to BML correctly.

In a separate incident, a salary disbursement error occurred at Lily Beach Resort, where some employees mistakenly received USD 77 billion in their salaries last month. However, BML has since recovered the funds from the respective accounts.
