15-Year-Old Boy Found Dead After Snorkelling Incident in Maamigili

A 15-year-old boy who went missing while snorkelling near ADh. Maamigili yesterday was found dead, according to the Maldives Police Service.

The boy, identified as Looth Ahmed from Roalhi, Maamigili, was reported missing around 7:00 p.m. after he went snorkelling with three other children in the sea off the island.

Following the report of his disappearance, a joint search operation was launched by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), police, and local residents.

His body was later recovered from the sea, close to the area where he had initially entered the water. Divers participating in the search operation located the body. He was taken to the Maamigili Health Centre shortly after being found.
