36 Cases of Gender Based Violence Received Last Month

Statistics released by the Ministry of Social and Family Development reveal that the Ministry received and attended to a total of 36 cases of gender-based violence in the month of October, which included 33 females and three males.

Comparatively, the month of September saw 39 cases of gender-based violence. 

In October, the most commonly reported form of domestic violence was emotional abuse / verbal abuse, with 16 cases documented during the month. 

Additionally, during October month, there were 15 cases of physical violence / abuse, three cases of indimidating, one case of rape and one case of sexual voilence / abuse.

In October 2023, the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services received a total of 205 reported cases concerning various issues related to child welfare and family well-being.
