Statistics released by the Ministry of Social and Family Development reveal that the Ministry received and attended to a total of 90 cases of violence against children in the month of October 2023, which included 54 girls and 36 boys.

This is a slight decrease compared to the month of September 2023, which saw a total of 92 cases, which included 50 girls and 42 boys.
In October, the most commonly reported form of child abuse was witness to domestic violence, with 25 cases documented during the month.
Additionally, there were 19 cases of physical abuse, 16 cases of sexual abuse, 15 cases of negligence, five cases of victim to bullying and harrasment, four cases of emotional abuse, three cases of victims of cyber bullying, two cases of others and one case of blackmail.
In October 2023, the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services received a total of 205 reported cases concerning various issues related to child welfare and family well-being.
