The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has reported the reception of 29 cases in connection with the presidential election.
According to ACC officials, these cases pertain to alleged instances of bribery and the utilisation of state resources during the initial round of the election.
Currently, the Commission has initiated investigations into seven of these cases, which encompass various issues, including the allocation of land plots in Hulhumale’ and the administration of the lucky draw process.
ACC has indicated that it will take necessary actions following further inquiry and verification of the allegations.
In anticipation of the presidential election, ACC had introduced a dedicated online platform for reporting incidents of bribery. This initiative has seen the submission of corruption-related cases through the online portal, as well as through other means of reporting. Additionally, the portal serves as an informational resource, offering guidance on recognizing electoral bribery and taking preventive measures.
To ensure user confidentiality, the portal has been designed with stringent data protection measures. Updates on case developments will be discreetly and anonymously communicated to users.
