Accident at Hankede Bridge Leaves One Injured

An individual has been reported injured following a road accident at Hankede Bridge in Addu City, involving a motorcyclist who lost control of the vehicle.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the accident occurred at approximately 10:17am yesterday. The motorcyclist had been travelling from Hithadhoo to Maradhoo when the incident took place. Police reported that the rider lost control of the motorbike and collided with the bridge’s wall fence.
The injured individual was taken to Addu Equatorial Hospital for treatment. However, the hospital was not available for comment regarding the condition of the patient.
Police have stated that an investigation into the incident is underway.
This marks the second accident reported on Hankede Bridge within the past four months. In February, a similar incident occurred when a speeding motorcyclist lost control and was involved in an accident. The 24-year-old rider in that incident died while receiving treatment.
