Addu Conservation Trust Fund Annual Report Highlights Maintenance Efforts

The Addu Conservation Trust Fund has released its annual report for 2023, detailing both financial insights and operational highlights.

According to the report, a total of MVR 417,967.84 was generated from amenities at Addu Nature Park in 2023. 

Additionally, the Trust Fund received a grant of MVR 500,000 from the Green Fund, bringing the total budget for the year to MVR 917,967.84.

Budget Allocation and Expenditure:

Detailing the budget allocation, it was revealed that MVR 829,043.50 was earmarked for maintenance activities in 2023. However, only MVR 179,891.36 was spent.

MVR 137,670.80 was utilised from the Green Fund.

​​One notable expenditure was the roof repairs at Addu City Park, for which MVR 1,105,410.78 was spent against an allocated budget of MVR 1,000,000. 

While the estimated costs and required budget totalled MVR 2,329,043.50, the actual spending for 2023 amounted to MVR 1,422,972.94.

Established to protect areas falling under the purview of Addu under the Decentralization Act (no. 7/2010), as well as in accordance with Law No: 4/93 Environment Protection and Preservation Act of Maldives and UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere (MAB) programme, the Addu Conservation Trust Fund continues to enact sustainable conservation practices.
