Air Services Between Kaadedhdhoo and Kooddoo Complete Southern Connectivity Project

Air connectivity between Kaadedhdhoo and Kooddoo has been launched, completing all air links under the Southern Connectivity initiative.
The Southern Connectivity project links Addu City in Seenu Atoll, Fuvahmulah City in Gnaviyani Atoll, Kooddoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Kaadedhdhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. Services to Addu City and Fuvahmulah City were launched on 30 January, while flights to Kooddoo and Kaadedhdhoo were introduced during separate ceremonies on 31 January.
The service is operated by the national carrier Maldivian, managed by Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), using 15-seater Twin Otter aircraft that are typically used for seaplane operations. The network covers five routes, including Gan to Kaadedhdhoo, Gan to Kooddoo, Gan to Fuvahmulah, Fuvahmulah to Kaadedhdhoo and Fuvahmulah to Kooddoo.
Fares have been set at USD 32 for travel between Gan and Fuvahmulah, USD 42 for flights from Fuvahmulah to Kooddoo and Kaadedhdhoo, and USD 58 for routes connecting Gan with Kaadedhdhoo and Kooddoo.
