Allied Insurance Company announced that it has resumed its outpatient cashless service across all healthcare providers within its cashless panel, following a temporary suspension.

The suspension came after Aasandha, the Maldives’ state health insurance provider, implemented a significant policy change, mandating that state insurance will only be provided once the limit of a private insurance policy is reached. This policy, in effect since last Thursday, meant that patients holding private insurance would have to exhaust their coverage limit before being eligible for Aasandha benefits.

The shift prompted some insurers, including Allied, to halt their cashless billing services. During this period, patients with private insurance policies were required to pay the full cost of services out-of-pocket, with reimbursement contingent on submitting bills to their insurance provider for processing.

Allied’s resumption of cashless services now re-establishes a streamlined process for its customers, who can once again access treatments without upfront payment at partnered healthcare facilities.
