Aminath Hassan, Veteran Educator, Passes Away at 58

Aminath Hassan, widely known as Ainthu Miss, who dedicated over 30 years to the education sector, has passed away at the age of 58.

Ainthu Miss spent most of her career teaching at Aminiya School and was recognised for her long-standing contribution to shaping young minds. She died while receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Colleagues and former students have shared condolences on social media, expressing their grief at her passing and recalling her dedication to education.

Ainthu Miss also contested the 20th House of Representatives elections in the Central Maafannu constituency. Her campaign focused on introducing a four-day work week with a three-day weekend, though she was not elected.

Her death is considered a significant loss to the Maldivian education community, marking the end of a distinguished career in teaching and public service.
