Applications are now open for the MV+ Community Impact Awards 2026, the fourth edition of the biennial event that has, until now, exclusively recognised NGOs. Next year, for the first time, businesses and individuals are also eligible to apply. The 2026 Awards will also serve as a fundraiser, with proceeds going directly to the NGOs winning the award.
The MV+ Community Impact Awards & Fundraiser 2026 will feature three major categories: Outstanding NGOs, Corporate Changemakers, and the Lifetime Impact Award.
Outstanding NGOs
This category is exclusively reserved for health-related campaigns or initiatives by NGOs. Areas of focus include cancer prevention, awareness, or treatment support; NCD prevention and management; community health education; and patient or caregiver support.

Corporate Changemakers
The business category is open to all CSR initiatives, with awards presented across three sub-categories:
- Private sector
- Government sector
- Tourism sector
While campaigns are not limited to health, priority will be given to health-related initiatives, especially those tackling cancer and NCDs.

Lifetime Impact Award
The Lifetime Impact Award will honour one Maldivian individual whose lifelong dedication has created enduring, positive change in society. The award recognises pioneers, visionaries, and community leaders who have devoted at least 15 years to community service.

Why Cancer in 2026?
Each edition of the CIA highlights a pressing national issue. In 2024, the focus was on residency rights, sparking dialogue on one of the country’s most significant social challenges. For 2026, MV+ has chosen to focus on the alarming rise in cancer cases in the Maldives, which has now reached crisis levels. The event aims to amplify awareness, encourage preventative measures, and spotlight the tireless work of organisations and individuals addressing cancer and other non-communicable diseases.
The MV+ Community Impact Awards & Fundraiser 2026 aims to not only celebrate the changemakers driving progress in the Maldives but also to inspire others to take action by expanding to include corporations and individuals, and by raising funds to directly support health-focused NGOs, next year’s Awards promise to be the most impactful edition yet.
