ARC and Dhiffushi Council Mark World Children’s Day 2025 with Youth Camp

Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC), in partnership with K. Dhiffushi Council and local organisation Alohaa Ufaa, held a three-day Young Explorer Camp in Dhiffushi from 20-22 November to commemorate World Children’s Day 2025.

According to ARC, the three-day programme brought together more than 100 children from Grades 1 to 10 for a series of activities centred on mental well-being, physical health, and environmental and ocean awareness.

The schedule featured interactive book-reading sessions aimed at helping children recognise and manage emotions, along with an art workshop designed to encourage creative expression and emotional regulation. Mindful movement sessions introduced participants to gentle stretches, breathing exercises and grounding activities intended to support focus and calmness.

ARC stated that the children also participated in healthy meal-preparation sessions, where they learned to make simple, nutritious snacks while developing basic food-preparation skills and an understanding of the importance of good nutrition.

ARC stated that during a beach clean-up, students collected more than 30 bags of waste, separating plastics from general waste to learn about pollution and responsible waste management. A “nurdle hunt” further educated participants on microplastic pollution and the long-term environmental impact of plastic pellets found along coastlines.

In addition to these events, ARC also had snorkelling sessions for children.

ARC expressed its appreciation to the Dhiffushi Council, Dhiffushi Health Centre, facilitators, volunteers, and the wider community for their support, noting that the collaboration helped provide a safe and enriching learning experience for all participants.
