Australian Gov’t Donates Surveillance Drones To Maldives Customs Service

The Australian Government has donated surveillance drones to the Maldives Customs Service to support border enforcement and enhance security operations.

The equipment was formally handed over during a ceremony held at the Customs headquarters. Australian Ambassador to the Maldives, David Jessup, presented the drones on behalf of the Australian Border Force to Commissioner General of Customs, Fathimath Dhiyana, who received them on behalf of the agency.

Maldives Customs Service said the donation would play a key role in strengthening border surveillance and port management efforts across the country. Commissioner General Dhiyana expressed appreciation to the Australian Government for its continued cooperation and support in enhancing the Maldives’ security capabilities.
