AVSECOM and DASA Officers Set to Embark on Study Tour Programme in India

A group of 30 individuals hailing from the Aviation Security Command (AVSECOM) and the Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) has embarked on an educational expedition to India on Saturday.

A ceremony took place at Velana International Airport, marking the commencement of this study tour. The occasion was attended by Munu Mahawar, the Indian High Commissioner to Maldives.
The employees participating in this study tour comprises twenty-seven officers from AVSECOM and three personnel from DASA. The selection process encompassed employees stationed across all airports in Maldives.
The primary objective of this tour is to provide participants with an opportunity to observe and understand the intricacies of India’s aviation security protocols.
During the event, Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar emphasised India’s status as a rapidly burgeoning entity within the civil aviation domain. He articulated that this experiential trip holds the potential to enrich the civil aviation industry in Maldives.
The government has stated that the reason behind this trip is is to augment the skills and competencies of aviation sector personnel. The trip also seeks to foster knowledge exchange within the field and improve collaborative ties.
The tour participants are set to spend a duration of eight days in India, delving into various aspects of its aviation security landscape.
A comparable initiative was undertaken by the Indian government in the preceding year. Back then, twenty-four representatives from AVSECOM and DASA were extended the opportunity to embark on a similar study tour.
