Bangladesh High Commission in Maldives Opens Condolence Book After Dhaka Air Crash

The High Commission of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in the Maldives has opened a condolence book in tribute to the lives lost in the recent Bangladesh Air Force aircraft crash in Dhaka.
The incident, which occurred on July 21, 2025, tragically resulted in fatalities and injuries among students of Milestone School and College.


The condolence book is available for signing at the High Commission’s premises in Hulhumale on specific dates and times. Maldivian high officials, members of the diplomatic community, the Bangladeshi community, friends of Bangladesh, and well-wishers are invited to express their sympathies.

- Dates: July 23, 24, 27, and 28, 2025
- Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Md. Sohel Parvez, the Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Maldives, commented on the tragedy, stating, “We stand together in this moment of profound grief. The nation mourns the departed souls we have lost, and we appreciate the outpouring of support and best wishes from the Maldivian government and people during this difficult time.” He also extended gratitude to the President of the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, for his message of condolence.

In observance of the tragic accident, the Mission also held a one-day National Mourning. A special prayer was organised for the victims and for the swift recovery of those injured.
