Body of Man Who Fell Overboard from Indian Cargo Ship Recovered

The body of a man who went overboard from the Indian cargo ship MSV Daulah has been recovered following a two-day search operation.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed that the body was discovered south of the Feydhoofinolhu area in Kaafu Atoll and has been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

According to earlier information from the MNDF, the incident took place one kilometre off the coast of Vilimale’ while the Indian vessel was operating in northern waters. The search was conducted by the Coastguard’s Second Squadron under the Male’ Area Command.

The incident adds to a series of similar cases reported in the region in recent weeks.
