Cath Lab Services at Addu Equatorial Hospital Expected Within Four Months, Says Health Ministry

Cath lab services at Addu Equatorial Hospital are expected to be made available to the public within the next four months, according to the Ministry of Health.
In a written response to parliament, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim stated that 98 percent of the equipment installation work has been completed following structural modifications to the hospital building.

The Minister also confirmed that the hospital has now opened the opportunity for interested parties to manage and operate the new cardiac catheterisation laboratory. A party will be selected following the review of submitted proposals.
The Ministry of Finance and Planning has issued a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from parties willing to operate the facility for a five-year period. Submissions are to be made by 2:00 pm on 29 June.
Once a service provider is selected, the cath lab is expected to begin operations within four months.
