The Young Entrepreneur Fair held at Artificial Beach drew public interest over the weekend, with dozens of young participants showcasing their creativity and business acumen. The event was jointly organised by the Children’s Ombudsperson’s Office in collaboration with Dhiraagu, as part of this year’s Children’s Day celebrations.

Fifty-one children took part in the fair, representing 24 different stalls. From homecooked food to handmade crafts and original publications, the children presented a diverse range of products, reflecting not only their imagination but also a growing interest in entrepreneurship. Some stalls also featured mobile applications developed by the children, including those focused on mental health.

Ahead of the fair, an information session was conducted to prepare both participants and their guardians. The session included talks from small business owners, offering insights into entrepreneurship, as well as guidance on financial literacy and the use of Dhiraagu Pay. An additional segment focused on internet safety, reflecting broader efforts to equip young people with the tools to navigate digital spaces responsibly.

Dhiraagu’s involvement forms part of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts, which include promoting digital literacy, online safety, and youth development across the Maldives. The fair served as a platform not only to celebrate children’s talents but also to encourage early exposure to practical business and life skills.
