Concerns were raised by Maldivians living in China regarding the lack of Dhivehi and Islam classes, hindering their eligibility for government scholarships. In response, Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer addressed the issue, mentioning the government’s initiation of a pilot program to teach Dhivehi and Islam to those residing abroad. He expressed confidence that the program’s implementation would address the concerns raised by residents.

Both nations have described the discussions as successful and constructive, with Muizzu emphasising that the visit has elevated the close ties between the two countries to new heights.

The visit resulted in the signing of twenty agreements between China and Maldives, encompassing major development projects scheduled to be undertaken during Muizzu’s administration.
