The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, H.E. Kong Xianghua, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
During the meeting, Minister Shaheem warmly welcomed the Ambassador and expressed his appreciation for the visit. He shared an overview of the Ministry’s responsibilities and initiatives, highlighting its role in promoting religious harmony and Islamic education in the country. The Minister also acknowledged the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between the Maldives and China, and conveyed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government and its people for their continued support.
Ambassador Kong Xianghua expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage with the Ministry. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations.
