The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Maldives, Kong Xianhua, paid a courtesy call on Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef at the President’s Office.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to reflect on the longstanding relationship between the Maldives and China. They expressed mutual appreciation for the strong diplomatic partnership that has evolved over the decades, highlighting shared values such as respect, goodwill, and cooperation in development efforts.
China and the Maldives formally established diplomatic relations on 14 October 1972.
