Chinese President Extends Congratulations to Muizzu

Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with President-elect Muizzu to further strengthen the bilateral ties between their nations.
In a congratulatory message sent to President-elect Muizzu on Tuesday, President Xi highlighted the history of friendly exchanges between China and the Maldives. He emphasised that the two countries have not only been sincere and trustworthy friends supporting one another but also collaborative partners striving for mutual development and prosperity.
President Xi highlighted the significance of fostering China-Maldives relations and expressed his readiness to work closely with President-elect Muizzu.
Muizzu emerged victorious in the presidential runoff on Saturday as the candidate of the Peoples National Congress (PNC).
Until his successor’s inauguration on November 17, Solih will continue to serve as the caretaker President of the Maldives until Muizzu is set to lead the Maldives for a five-year term.
