The Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure has opened submission of complaints regarding the permanent list of flat recipients under the Gedhoruveriya scheme.
The provisional list, which initially lacked the specific point allocations, raised concerns among the public.
The absence of these details prompted a demonstration at the Ministry where individuals expressed their dissatisfaction.
To address these concerns, the Ministry has now provided an avenue for lodging complaints related to the permanent list. This complaint submission window will remain open from today until 4:00 pm on Thursday, offering a period for individuals to voice their objections or raise queries. The complaints are to be registered exclusively through the Binveriya portal.
With the government’s announcement of the Gedhoruveriya scheme, a total of 13,000 individuals have been deemed eligible for flats in the permanent list. The initial phase of allocations will see 4,000 flats provided to qualified beneficiaries.
The criteria for the initial allocation stipulate that individuals must attain more than 76 points to be eligible for one of the first 4,000 flats. Meanwhile, those who applied for two-bedroom flats must have garnered more than 73 points to be considered.
