The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast continued rainfall across several parts of the country this week, with weather conditions expected to gradually improve after Friday.
Rain has affected many regions since last week, and weather models indicate that the wet spell will persist for the next few days. Winds are predicted to range between 10 and 25 mph, with stronger gusts in the central and southern atolls.
For the next 24 hours, the Met Office expects winds to reach between 15 and 25 mph in the central and southern atolls and up to 23 mph in the north. Sea conditions are forecast to remain moderate to rough, with wave heights ranging from four to seven feet.
The Met Office has issued repeated advisories urging seafarers to exercise caution, particularly following two recent marine accidents attributed to adverse weather conditions.
