The decision comes after consideration of complaints from local council workers who, unlike their counterparts in government ministries, did not receive the same salary boost last year.
Last year, civil servants working within government ministries benefited from a 35% allowance increase, resulting in a noticeable wage gap between these employees and their counterparts in local councils.
According to the President’s Office, this decision has eliminated the salary gap between civil servants.
