Creator Hub Project Advances Towards November Opening

The government is progressing with a flagship initiative to strengthen the national creative economy through the construction of the Creator Hub, a major development led by the Business Center Corporation (BCC). 

The project is scheduled to open on 11 November, with the completion and inauguration date outlined by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in his annual Presidential Address to Parliament on 5 February.

Construction of the eleven-storey building began in March 2024. Upon completion, the facility will span 1,500 square feet and is designed to provide accessible workspaces and essential resources for creative professionals across the country.

Mohamed Eeman Ahmed, Director of Investment and International Relations at BCC, stated that 90 per cent of the structural framework has been completed. The eighth floor has been finalised, with work currently progressing on the ninth floor. He indicated that the development team is working to meet the targeted inauguration date set by the President.

The facility is intended to serve as a central hub for small enterprises by consolidating key services within a single location. The building has been specifically designed to offer dedicated opportunities and tailored services for creators, in line with the administration’s policy objective of establishing a robust creative economy in the Maldives.

In addition to specialised facilities for creative professionals, the full range of services provided by the Business Center Corporation will be integrated within the premises. The corporation will also relocate its primary operations to the new building.

The Creator Hub will include studio spaces, practice rooms, as well as recording and editing suites, enabling professionals to complete their projects under one roof. Authorities have stated that the project is expected to create a supportive and dynamic environment for creative practitioners and other small businesses nationwide.
