The MS Crystal Symphony, operated by Crystal Cruises, arrived in Malé last Wednesday carrying more than 500 tourists.
The Bahamas-flagged vessel, measuring 238 metres in length and 32 metres in width, arrived from Port Victoria in Seychelles at 6:00 p.m. According to Maldives Immigration, en-route clearance services were provided for 548 passengers and 489 crew members on board.
The ship is scheduled to depart Malé at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday for Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Crystal Symphony underwent refurbishment last year and is described as an intimate vessel offering butler service in all suites, a range of dining options including Nobu Matsuhisa’s Umi Uma restaurant, a 3,000 square foot fitness centre, and a high space-to-guest ratio.
The vessel also visited the Maldives in January with more than 400 tourists, marking the arrival of the first cruise liner of the year.
The Maldives has recorded frequent cruise ship arrivals in recent weeks. While cruise agents had previously raised concerns over limited facilities in Malé to accommodate passengers, industry representatives have stated that the expansion and upgrade of the Malé ring road has helped ease some of these challenges.
